'In Your Eyes' by The Weeknd has taken over the top spot in the SoundAware Airplay Top 20 from 'Blinding Lights' by The Weeknd. After four months the time has finally come for a new track at number one. For a while there was hope that Dutch band Di-rect would pop the Canadian singer with 'Soldier On', but he eventually did it himself. 'Blinding Lights' can be found in ninth place in this month’s list.

'In Your Eyes' could be heard no less than 682 times on the various public and commercial Dutch radio channels. The hit of the, this sounds like a sure bet already, artist of 2020 is followed closely by Di-rect with 638 plays. 'Break my Heart' by Dua Lipa was on air 607 times and completes the top 3. This is shown by data from SoundAware, the company that records, among other things, for the music industry which music is played on the Dutch TV and radio stations.

It is also noticeable that 'Love To Go' by Lost Frequencies, Zonderling & Kelvin Jones bursts into the list. Last month they were not listed, but in June their hit single was played 476 times, which welcomes them in the eighth position. In total there are five new listings in the top 20.

Eight Dutch hits

In addition to the hits of countrymen Di-rect and Zonderling, the Top 20 also contains six hit singles by, partly Dutch, artists. For example, we find Martin Garrix's hit 'Drown' in fifth place, followed by Davina Michelle's 'Beat Me' in sixth position. Ilse Delange (new at 12) and Racoon at 17 and twice Duncan Laurence (18 and 19) complete the Dutch contribution.

Record company Universal Music is the main supplier and provides the list of eight tracks, followed by Sony Music with five. Warner Music delivers three hit singles, 8ball two, and Spark Records and Armada Music one each.
